Students Visit DC Office Jammu to Mark National Girl Child Day

Marking National Girl Child Day, students from Government School Kanna Chargal, Bajalta, Tehsil Jammu Khas, were taken on an educational tour to the Office of Deputy Commissioner Jammu to promote girls’ empowerment and awareness about administrative governance.

The visit was organized by the Social Welfare Department under the leadership of District Social Welfare Officer Preeti Sharma, as part of the nationwide observance themed “Empowering Girls for a Bright Future.”

During the exposure visit, the students toured various offices in the district administrative complex and learned about the functioning of the district headquarters. The highlight was an interactive session with Deputy Commissioner Dr Rakesh Minhas, who discussed the students’ aspirations and encouraged them to pursue their goals with confidence, stressing the role of educated girls in building a progressive society.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Ansuya Jamwal also interacted with the students, motivating them to set clear goals and work with determination and resilience. Other officers, including ADDC Sher Singh, Tehsildar Jammu Paramdeep Singh, and Tehsildar Hq Mona Chalotra, shared insights into governance and administrative processes.
