JKBOSE Class 10 & 12 Results: Putting an end to weeks of uncertainty, the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) will declare the Class 10th and Class 12th examination results on January 14, 2026 (Wednesday).
The announcement was made by Education Minister Sakina Itoo in an exclusive interaction with Greater Kashmir.

The decision comes amid prolonged delays caused by the vacant Chairman post of JKBOSE, which has remained unfilled for nearly a year, leading to anxiety among lakhs of students and parents across Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh regions.
Both Class 10 & 12 Results on Same Day
Confirming the development, Education Minister Sakina Itoo said the government has decided to release the results of both Class 10th and Class 12th on the same day to ease student stress and avoid further academic delays.
“We understand that students have been waiting for their results for a long time. Therefore, we decided that the results of both Class 10th and 12th will be declared on Wednesday,”

According to JKBOSE officials, the Class 10th result will be declared in the morning, followed by the Class 12th result in the late afternoon on January 14.

How Results Will Be Declared Without a Chairman
One of the biggest hurdles in declaring JKBOSE results has been the absence of a Chairman, whose approval is traditionally mandatory. Addressing this issue, the Education Minister clarified that the government has decided on an alternative administrative mechanism.
She said the Result Declaration Committee (RDC) meeting will be convened by the Secretary JKBOSE, along with:
- Director School Education (DSE), Kashmir
- Director School Education (DSE), Jammu
- Joint Secretaries of JKBOSE
Instead of Chairman approval, the government will provide administrative approval to clear the results.

The Education Minister also assured that the government will soon address the long-pending issue of leadership at JKBOSE.

Background: Delay Due to Vacant Chairman Post
The Chairman post of JKBOSE has remained vacant for nearly one year, resulting in repeated delays in result declaration. The issue was repeatedly highlighted by Greater Kashmir through a series of reports, drawing attention to the mental stress faced by students and parents.
Under JKBOSE rules, the Result Declaration Committee, comprising six members, is chaired by the Chairman, and his or her presence is mandatory. The lack of appointment had brought the entire result process to a standstill—until now.
