Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena has appointed senior IAS officer Santosh D. Vaidya as Principal Secretary (Home), Government of NCT of Delhi, as per details with Cross Town News.
Vaidya was transferred from Jammu and Kashmir to Delhi on January 4, 2026. However, he is yet to be relieved and is currently serving as Principal Secretary, Finance Department in Jammu and Kashmir.
Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah is scheduled to present the Budget on February 6, with discussions on Demands for Grants to continue till February 18.
Sources indicate that Vaidya is likely to be relieved after the completion of the Demands for Grants discussions.
